Lombardini22, renovation building for offices in Milan

At Corso di Porta Vigentina 9, in the Porta Romana area, Lombardini22 updates with a contemporary and sustainable slant the characteristics of a 1962 building, redefining its external appearance, volumes and interior spaces. The architecture, which spans 5,600 square metres, has preserved its service sector purpose and houses more than 250 employees of insurance companies. An innovative eco-sustainable smart building, thanks to its high standards in terms of energy efficiency, it has obtained Leed Platinum certification.

The change on the street front is the most visible: here the architects have given a new three-dimensionality to the composition through windows rotated northwards that reduce direct sunlight. Inside, the triple-height reception welcomes employees and guests, opening onto the wooden stepped multi-purpose space of the arena, designed as a meeting place and for events. On the upper levels, the three operational floors designed by DEGW – Gruppo Lombardini22 are characterised by a great variety of spaces and furnishing solutions, specifically chosen so people can work flexibly, in a team or independently. The large open spaces with workstations (that can be reserved using an app) also contain meeting rooms of all different types, like spaces equipped with sofas and poufs for informal brainstorming, colourful phone booths for making private calls, skype rooms with trapezoidal tables and rooms for quick ‘stand up’ meetings.
